As explored on Reddit, the Vault was accessible by way of a map glitch while tackling the Strike mission in Old Russia (hence the weird white spaces in the first video). It's theorised that the Seraphim is in fact a Warmind, like Rasputin and Charlemagne on Mars. I guess we'll have to wait till September to learn the truth, but by all means share your speculations. This NeoGAF thread might be worth a bookmark.
