an idea about gold membership

same with gold i could have and still could quite easily get lifetime if i wanted too ive been here a year now and pay £3 a month only £8 off a lifetime membership but this site is so usefull i would rather chip in every month and keep it going than loose it even if im here another 2 years ill still stay on the £3 a month scheme

i just copy and pasted that from the ftp thread but it got me thinking for people like me who pay monthly and are happy to keep doing so (i dont miss £3 a month) maybe the extra lifetime benefits could be gradually added once a certain amount of money had been paid over time like after 18 months thats £54 altogether then get an lifetime member reward extra. then after 2 years that's £72 paid get another extra etc.

just a thought i had really. im going to keep paying monthly to make sure the site keeps going regardless you benefit more from me doing it that way and i dont mind. it would however be nice to get the exra rewards that lifetime members get even if just gradually

DirtyDozza good idea! I will be monthly for life.. I have learned so much from the xpg community and if that would be added it would be more incentive for newbies.

great idea just not sure how easy it would be to track

 

imo it should be based on continues months not total amount spent. like i mentioned 18 months then 2 years without a month missed rather than total amount paid . i don't actually know what benefits you get extra from lifetime anyway to be fair. it was just an ides i had when donating to the ftp so thought i would put it out there if its more hasel than its worth then fair enough but worth looking into i'd say?

Not a bad idea, but even if you buy lifetime you can still donate. So why not just buy a lifetime membership and donate monthly?

Dirty you are actually paying £3 a month which is a redundant package and has been for a long time since the one month Gold is now £4pm..

I like the idea of length of time being Gold rewards , and could start maybe with a star for every 6 months spent as a gold member or something...

This would need to be coded from scratch so it wont be happening anytime soon, buts still a good idea.

 

ye i almost got life time when it went up to 4 but because mine stayed at 3 and im fine with that so just left it and will just leave it at least you get a steady stream each month so thought i would chuck it out there. if it ends up being a PITA dont bother i dont miss £3 a month and the ftp server alone is worth more than that imo. i chucked some in for that and gunna chuck another tenner on christmas bonus day

like i said i dont actualt know what extra you get for life time but just thought would be better for you having a more consistent income. because say if 10 people like me who just roll over just got lifetime you would get a nice chunk in one go but loose £30 a month. i dont know how much everything costs for what would suit the site best but ye i thought it was worth a mention
