i am a complete noob when it comes to xbox what is the difference in all these mod tools, what doees moding a game do? i have the xbox 360 slim and i would like to find out how to homebrew it or unlock it. i have done all this for wii but i am way lost when it comes to xbox.absolutely any kind of information about flashing, jtagging, soft modding, etc...would be absolutely amazing.

Welcome. And you can't homebrew the Xbox. What you're looking for is called a Jtag or an RGH and those can't go online. If you want to keep the ability to use your Xbox online functions, try gamesave modding. There are some really great ones for a ton of games here on XPG. And remember. To avoid a ban of your Xbox LIVE account, always use a secondary and NEVER use your main profile. Enjoy your time on the forums. You may want to look into flashing your dvd drive that way you can play backups. You can look into flashing services on the site unless you want to buy the hardware to do it yourself. Just make sure if you deal with someone on this site they are a trusted member!
Welcome and RGH is the way to go with modding at the moment and if you still want to go online then get a dual nand Xbox. One nand can be RGH'd and the other running as stock nand.

hmmm..........ok what exactly are game saves? do you need the original game disk to do it or can you download games and get them to boot up and play from the consul? what are the benefits of jtag? i have heard of jtag what is rgh? and what are the benefits if you do this? i guess im really confused, when i unlocked my wii the whole reason behind it was to get apps and games not normally on the wii regularly, is that basically the concept behind flashing xbox and the game mods here?
