Hi Downloaded modded Red Dead Redemption files (2 for single player on this site) and then used 360rev to rehash, resign etc. No problems to that point but then got the windows message about the usb port being used when I tried to "safely remove hardware". Couldn't even get unlocker to fix it. Never had this issue with other modded files. Had to turn pc off and keep fingers crossed that files aren't corrupt. Anyone else had this? Thanks Simon
If you want to remove it safely, there should be a little usb icon by your time on the toolbar. Click and it should be something like remove or Eject.
Something else is accessing your USB, make sure any or all programs are closed that read your USB drive, then you should be able to disconnect. If not, turn off your PC then disconnect. Granted, many people don use the "Remove Safely" feature, which can actually Kill the USB Drive completely. Which is why I always use that feature and always recommend others using it (as I have seen friends experiencing corrupted blocks -- uncorrectable, Dead Flash Drives, loss of data, etc..)
Hi Thanks for replies. There was nothing "writing to the drive" as far as I could tell so had to switch off PC and then disconnect. Have used usb with loads of modded gamesaves b4 but never had this issue. One final point. The file in question is Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare. I'm just curious as there is only one modded file but think the game creates two save files (a la Red Dead Redemption). If that's right which file would I replace? Many thanks
Update Can confirm that the game creates two saves, game options and whatever chapter you're in (Love in the time of Plague in my case). Does anyone know whiich one has to be replaced by the modded one??? Thanks
It's been a while since I looked at Red Dead, but yes I would think you should be using the chapter save. Just make sure to backup your saves in a separate folder and try it out. if it's not the right one, just put your originals back on.
Closing the thread, original reported issue -- resolved. If the issue continues, please feel free to make another report thread. Thanks.
