News Final Fantasy 15 is going to have lots of DLC, both free and premium. Here’s the first batch.

Final Fantasy 15‘s first DLC has been detailed by Square Enix Japan, and it’s all a bit confusing so bear with us.

First up, Gematsu reports, there’s going to be a free update which adds a new game plus mode to Final Fantasy 15, along with “social networking site-like picture frames” for your photos, which can be shared socially.

Now as for the DLC, it comes in two flavours – one free, and one for Final Fantasy 15 Season Pass holders. Both contain items that won’t unlock until a carnival event in January.

The free version of the Final Fantasy 15 Holiday Pack contains:

• Level Stopper
• Annihilation Victory Song
• Moogle Chocobo Carnival T-Shirt Costume (Noctis-only, available after January update)
• Limited Time Carnival Ticket

The premium Final Fantasy 15 Holiday Pack, issued to season pass holders, adds the following to the free items:

• Protection Ring
• Command Booster (Noctis-only)
• Phantom Booster (Noctis-only)
• Instant Kill Victory Song
• Battle Technique Victory Song
• Fortuitous Key
• Stamina Anchor (Noctis-only)
• Carnival Style Costume (Noctis-only, available after January update)
• Picture Frames (Holiday Pack Limited Edition, available after January update)
• Limited Time Carnival Ticket+

Weirdly, Square Enix said that the two different carnival tickets are exactly the same, despite having different names. Hit the source link for some images; the pack releases December 22 in Japan but has not been dated for the west as of publication time.

Just for the record, while this may be Final Fantasy 15’s first DLC pack, it is not Final Fantasy 15’s first story DLC, which brings back Gilgamesh and adds new locations.

The Final Fantasy 15 Season Pass covers four story chapters, each focusing on one member of the squad. And apparently a bunch of goodies, too.​

I haven't played a ff game since 7 and 3 (in that order) I loved them. Is this one worth a shot
