New gameplay footage of Castlevania Lords of Shadow 2 has emerged online showing new gameplay footage in the game's modern-day setting.

News10 interviews producer Dave Cox in the video, who promises that the game's modern setting will feel natural to the Castlevania series.

"What we've tried to do is develop a world that feels real," said Cox. "It's based more on like modern European cities, where you have castles, you have old cobble-stone streets, gargoyles... that kind of stuff, next to modern buildings, modern skyscrapers.

"So, although it's a modern city, it's not like we're dropping Dracula into the middle of New York Times Square. It feels like it belongs in the Castlevania universe."

This follows a new batch of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 screenshots released Thursday, similarly showing off the sections of the game which take place in a modern day city.

Set many years after the previous Lords of Shadow and its spin-off Mirror of Fate, Lords of Shadow 2 sees Gabriel, now known as Dracula, preparing to regain his powers so he can take on and destroy Satan.

Konami has confirmed a Castlevania: Lords of Shadow 2 release date of February 28 in the UK.
