Have you ever had anything that you wanted to hide from the average user, but didnt want to go through abunch of hoops to do it? well im going to show you how to litterally make a folder on your desktop invisible! follow the steps below.
this shows the folder i created on the desktop.
Right click on the folder you just created, and click on "properties".
This window will appear. Click on the customize tab.
click on the change icon button.
now scroll over till you see the 3 blank spots in the icon selection, pick any one of the 3, then hit ok/apply.

As you can see, the icon is now blank, but you can still see the text. we will now take care of that as well.
Now, right click where the icon used to be (above the name) and scroll down to rename. it will then highlight the name area, hold ALT and press '255' then release ALT and hit enter. the name should now dissapear.
there may be a very faint dotted line where the icon used to be. but its not noticable against a wallpaper. then just click it and hold, move to where ever you want on the desktop. (just dont forget where its at!) now fill it with your stuff you want hidden from the average user.
NOTE* you can only have one invisible icon on the desktop at a time, you can however make another invisible folder within the invisible folder. thats all there is to it!
