How To Create Partition 2 And Insert The Xbox 1 Emulator

On Your Un-Official/Self Hacked Xbox360 HDD. :p

Another quick Tutorial for you. ;)

To Do This You Need:

Xplorer360 Extreme2

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

Original Xbox 1 Partition.bin from a 360 HDD (This is Partition 2 and the Xbox original 360 Emulator files)

Please Login or Register to see this Hidden Content

Extract the Partition.bin to your desktop or a folder of your choosing

Directions:
1. To do this open Open Xplorer360 Extreme2

2. Then open your HDD

3. Next click Drive/Restore Partition 2
A window labeled Open Drive Image will open

4. Locate and open the Partition.bin file you extracted earlier

5. Xplorer360 Extreme2 will then proceed to insert partition 2 with the original Xbox 1 compatibility files

Now you have partition 2 installed along with the Xbox 1 Compatability files
required to play Xbox 1 games on your Xbox360. :p

Enjoy! ;)

You are more than welcome

Yeah there are not many good guides as to how to do this and it is quite hard to get the partition2.bin file
It's a shame because it really is quite easy to do.

I hope this helps you mate let me know how you get on. ;)

What I need to figure out now is how to add the avatar editor to an Xbox360 HDD
I tried putting a new HDD on my RGH yesterday but when I formatted it and added my profile back to the HDD

my avatar would come up blank and I could not accss the avatar editor

I tried dong the system update via usb for the avatar editor but it wold not see the update on my USB

Hopefully I can work this out soon to and maybe make another tut on that :p

2. Then open your HDD

Thanks so much! But ... ah.. noob question, what kind of cable should I use to do this? Will the xbox transfer cable work? Google is giving conflicting results! I have an unofficial xbox HDD; no clue about modding.

Any advice you can give would be hugely appreciated. I'm hoping to be able to play Jade Empire ^_^

yea a transfer cable should do the job fine I think

failing that you can connect the drive directly to your PC via the SATA ports using the PC to power the drive

Or if you have an external HDD kicking about you could do what I do an take the external apart and use the connector from that. ;)

My Anti-Virus software deleted the Xplorer360Exterme 2 file since it detected it as a virus, so my only option is to use Modio and paste the Partition 2 stuff to my 360 hdd via the Datel USB dock. Unfortunately, that didn't work, so I still can't play X-Box1 games from my 360 hdd (or external hdd). I keep getting a game error message right after the white X-Box1 splash logo pre-game screen. Do I need to put X-Box1 games in a specific partition and/or folder? I've been trying to load the game's .xbe file, but this doesn't seem to be working. BTW, I have an RGH Jasper 360. Also, how do I transfer X-Box1 games to and from my PC? I have some mods I'd like to use for some games, but I don't know how to properly get the games onto my PC and then onto a compatible DVD-R disc. I tried using ImgBurn with a DL DVD-R, but I get the same game error code as when I try to run an X-Box1 game from my hdd. Any help with this stuff would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Turn your antivirus off whilst using Xplorer360 Extreme 2
I can assure you it is not a virus it is just the anti virus reporting a false positive.

you need to use this program as it builds the partition 2 with needed files and such from the .bin
you can not paste the .bin file anywhere it will not work that way.

you use an FTP program to transfer your games to your Xbox HDD
for your xbox 1 games you need to create a folder in the root of your Xbox HDD1 called Xbox1.

Okay, I'll try running the program with my AV off. Does it matter if the XBOX1 folder name is all in caps? Also, some xbox1 games have several .xbe files in them, which one am I supposed to use?

EDIT: I put my X-Box1 games in a folder I called Xbox1 on the root of my hdd1, but the games still get the same game error message when I try to play them. They are supposed to go in a created X-Box1 root folder and not the Xbox1 folder under Compatability, correct? Also, am I running the game correctly? I select the .xbe file from my hdd1 via Xex menu ver. 1.1, is that the correct way to play X-box1 games? That's how I've been playing my 360 games so far.

EDIT: The error is:

This original Xbox game has encountered a problem and can't continue.

X: 5805.0 B: 1884.0

I dont use xex menu I use FSD, they do not go into the compatability folder and you do not need to load it from the .xbe file

as I say in the tutorial make a folder on your HDD1 Root named Xbox1 and put your games there

then scan your xbox for new content and the game will show up in the games list
then just select the game from the game list and away you go

I dont think xex menu will see the games as they do not contain Xex files that the menu will be looking for

simple

I tried running the games via FSD (I had to use XEX to load FSD, since that's the only way I know how to get to FSD), but I always get this error when I try to play an X-Box1 game from my hdd1. The games are found by FSD and are listed under the X-Box Original section, but I can't get them to properly load-up at all. Is there anything else I can try to get the games to work? I backed-up the games from my XB1 games via FSD and they do play if I play them via the disc (even via the regular MS dashboard way), but I can't get them to work via the hd. Also, can I play a PAL XB1 game on my USA modded 360? I have 2 games that are PAL and I am having trouble getting them to work (all other games I have are USA region, it's just these 2).

Thanks.

Will this work on a 320GB drive that is already in use? Will it destroy any existing data? Thanks for the how-to

If done correctly no it will not erase anything as all it does is inject the missing folder and files for the emulator
And you are welcome. ;)

Still no luck getting this to work :( Now for some strange reason, I cannot copy Xbox.xtf & Xbox Book.xtf to my partition 2 at all. It seems as though (even though they're the same size as the originals) there isn't enough room on that partition for the files. I copied all the other files successfully, but I'm guessing that that was more than the size of the original files. My only option is to delete some of the xefu files and then copy the 2 Font folder files, but which files should I delete? My Partition 2 is only 0.25 GBs in size & it is completely full. The 2 Font folder files I need to copy over are a total of @ 32 MBs, but I don't have that much free space on Partition 2. Any ideas as to how to fix this & get it working? Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'm completely stumped here.
