If we take a look at the past, we will see that the duo Mr.gas and Major_Tom (also known as Tomtomdu80) always had some neat tricks up their sleeves, which, in the end, enabled you to do some cool stuff with your PS Vita.

This time the duo has yet another trick up their sleeves, and you can believe us when we say it is going to be a huge release.

    PackageInstaller

You might remember the internal ID list, which was handy for calling the ★ Package Installer (via: psgm:eek:pen?titleid=NPXS10031) and some other hidden Applications, don’t you? This one is similar, but it does not only allow you to open hidden Applications, but also allows you to virtually dump anything¹ you want.

Dump, I said? That is correct. Tom & Gas’ have found a way to pretty much dump any file of the Playstation Vita, ¹as long as said file follows the requirements (listed below).

This enables you to not only dump a few applications, but also system files and even parts of the PS Vita’s NAND partition! This is a huge flaw, which, unfortunally, will be patched with the next Firmware update.

    E-Fail Application & Explanation

This is not a typo, it is intentional. The E-Mail application of the PS Vita is highly flawed, and pretty much every method of dumping the files involves it.

You have to call a support_uri via the e-mail application, just like we used to do it in the past, for calling the ★ PKG Installer and other hidden applications.

The support_uri contains 3 parts, which are the following ones: Support_uri + file path + dot/period/fullstop (whatever name you prefer).

An example of a working support_uri would be the following one: “email:send?attach=ur0:shell/db/app.db.”

Keep in mind that there are a few requirements that apply, and if you cannot follow them, then you cannot use this.

You cannot dump any file that is larger than 2 Megabytes in size.

You cannot dig deeper than 7 directories at a time: ux0:/Subfolder1/Subfolder2/Subfolder3/Subfolder4/Subfolder5/Subfolder6/File7.txt

This only works up to Playstation Vita System Software 3.52. You read right, the next firmware patches this, unfortunally.
