More Bad News for Star Wars: Battlefront Every other day DICE reveals new information about Star Wars: Battlefront. The news has rarely been good, and in most cases, DICE is scrambling to explain why they have cut certain features out of the game. In an interview with the Official Xbox Magazine, DICE Executive Producer Patrick Bach explained that the core blaster in Battlefront will not have ironsights. “There are no ironsights in Star Wars, on the ordinary blasters,” Bach said “You have scopes on some rifles, but there are no ironsights.” In addition, Battlefront will not have classes or squads. All players will have access to build their own loadouts without class restrictions. “We’re not taking into account what we’ve done before, because I think that would be disrespectful to the fans, and to what we’re trying to achieve here,” Bach explained. “A lot of the things you saw in the game have nothing to do with anything we’ve done before. Some features of course resemble [our other shooters], because we want to make the best possible shooter, but in general we’ve tried to do something completely unique.” Amongst other bad news for Battlefront, the game will be restricted to 40 player battles, AT-AT’s will not be pilotable and they will only be on certain maps and controlled by the AI. There will only be 4 planets, Endor, Hoth, Tatooine, and Sullust. Perhaps gamers are being picky with Battlefront, but it is fully justified. The original Battlefront games were works of art and they provided an amazing experience to players that felt authentic and customizable. With DICE and EA working on the new Battlefront game, gamers are anxious and nervous that they will butcher the game and remove many of the features that made the original ones so fun.
