Footage of Aaron Gekoski swimming among sharks appears to show the photographer in a life threatening situation. He tells Jonny Cooper why it's actually the sharks who are in danger "Jumping into shark infested waters goes against everything you're ever taught as a child," says wildlife photographer and journalist Aaron Gekoski. And yet that is exactly what Gekoski, 34, decided to do as part of a new conservation project to highlight the plight of endangered species. Alongside his good friend and fellow filmmaker Chris Scarffe, Gekoski travelled to the Aliwal Shoal reef off the coast of Umkomaas in South Africa to plunge feet-first into a pool of hungry blacktip sharks. Over the course of two dives, each lasting an hour, he took pictures of himself immersed among the sharks. The result is a breathtaking series of photos, and a video that has been released on action and adventure sports channel EpicTV. Selfies with the sharks: Spoiler
