I've had problems with my Xbox kinect after installing the latest Dashboard update (17150) but I found a way to fix it. First, go to http://www.xbox.com/system-update-usb and download the zip file depending on your version, the link will auto-direct you to download the 17150 version of update if you just click the link. After you finished downloading, extract the $SystemUpdate folder to the root of your external hard drive or USB stick (FAT32). The name of the folder should be $SystemUpdate and must be placed at the root of your drive. Finally, plug your drive to your console and power it on. The update prompt should come up. Here's an example of steps: Extract the folder to the root of your external hard drive (Mine is 500 GB only) *Plug it in (console)* *Power it on (console)* When you see this, DO NOT UPDATE ; If this pops up SELECT YES AND UPDATE. After updating you should be able to access your avatars and have kinect installed. *Note that this is only applicable for those who aren't able to launch FSD after boot and instead launch into the default home screen. For other dudes with different situations, here's the full tutorial ***Link Removed*** I do not own or figured it myself. All credits to this guy who posted it. One more thing, if nothing prompts up try launching a game or an app(e.g. Xexmenu)
A nice little tutorial you have put together from what you have learnt over the past few days, i like it, keep up the good work. P.S. please dont link to external forums, I have removed that link.
Ohh I thought my thread was removed cuz I couldn't find it...srixbox360 I know it's too late but...nvm...try launching xex menu
