So I wanted to mod my dark souls 2 save file on Xbox 360 so I downloaded the modding tool found on this website and I downloaded the Horizon tool. I loaded my dark souls save data on a flash drive and plugged it into my computer. I then loaded my save file on Horizon and then extracted the save data into an empty file on my computer and then I extracted a backup copy also into a separate folder. I used the modding tool to load my extracted copy and then continued to mod my file. When i was finished modding I hit the save button and replaced the file on my flash drive with the new modded save data using the Horizon tool. I put the flash drive into my Xbox 360 and moved the file from the flash drive to the Xbox. I then loaded up dark souls 2 and I was prompted with the License and Agreement message. I then had to hit accept and Dark Souls 2 loaded the main menu. I could not choose the Continue option and the New Game option was the only available. So basically Dark Souls 2 was acting like i never played the game before. So i checked my storage on my Xbox 360 to see if my save data was there. My save data was there along with a duplicate save data. So Dark Souls 2 created a save data when I loaded up the game because it won't recognize my modded save data. I was relieved to know that I had created a back up save data on my computer so I deleted both saves on my Xbox 360 and did the process again using my flash drive and Horizon to get my backup file loaded into my 360. My 360 failed to recognize even my original backup save data. I'm figuring this has something to do with the Compatibility Pack 3 download that is mandatory now to play online due to the 3 pieces of DLC being out. But even with retrying everything in offline mode with the Compatibility pack uninstalled and the latest updates, I have made zero progress. So now my save data will no longer load and I fear having to start over even though I beat the game many times with my character and had already beat the first DLC. I was trying to mod my soul memory so I could play with my friend. Does anyone know any suggestions to try to get my save data on my PC compatible with my 360 again.
Bro i had the same thing as you, i deleted the the compatibility pack 2 then there was no continu option what i did is just deleted the save game on the xbox it's like 9 mb or 10 mb then i placed the backed up file from the usb on the HDD then later i got a update or something then it workt for me, i don't know if it was because of the update or replacing the save game file the old one.
