Do you guys think I can Mod the bracket of this heatsink and make it work in a slim corona? I know the height of 40mm will be fine, the fan blows down toward the chip so I will have to flip the fan so it blows out the top of the case. I ordered one and it ships monday, so we will see how much I have to mod it to get it to fit & if it cools any better. i think i will have to make the holes a little bigger in the pic below because they are just 80mm x 80mm on the outside edge of the mounting holes. will prob have to dremel about 2mm off at the outer most point of the holes http://gyazo.com/eb0544cafcb6e73e76c0b20076ff0543
I finally found 2 new Thermalright HR-03 GT (Discontinued) for my pre-nxe xenon jtag, I have been looking for these for awhile & they are hard to find new or used. The seller has 1 more if anyone is interested. Will see how much it helps both consoles and post results with a guide. I'm sure that I will have to relocate 3-4 caps on the cpu side.
I just got it in today and It would require alot of effort to get it mounted. You would have to remove 1 cap & relocate it, mount the 12mm fan on top of the heatsink and make a custom bracket to hold it to the motherboard. scheduled a pickup for return to amazon. if we can find the thermalright hr-03 or hr-03 plus they will fit perfect & are only 38mm tall without the fan. But the hr-03 gt that I ordered for my phat is 51mm tall. All of the hr-03 series are discontinued products but they fit perfect with the included mounting brackets. The hr-03 gt will fit in a silm but you would have to mount the fan on the bottom of the heatsink like the scythe in this thread. I will continue my search for a replacement for the slim & post if I find anything that will work with minor mods.
I remember this from back in the day, its the Thermalright TR360, could only find some for sale on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Thermalright-TR-360-XBOX-360-GPU-Cooler/dp/B004LZIVR4
That is a good heatsink to lower the gpu temps but it raises the cpu temps, thats why its no longer produced..
Nice 1 m8 let me no if you come across 1 that will fit P.S if you do come across 1 do you think it will fit in a 360 e
Here is my pics of the xenon motherboard & 2 Thermalright HR-03 GT heatsinks, I had to relocate a few caps & inductors to get them to fit. Also had to remove the front usb ports to get it to fit on the cpu, I'll be adding the usb ports back when I have time to build the custom case. In the pic below I had to remove the inductors and replace them with 2 from a falcon board because they lay flat and the originals stood up.
I am, lol In the pic below I had to relocate 1 cap to get the heatsink to fit. This is the temps with the heatsink, Ambient room temp was 24.4c when the img was taken. I don't use a dvd drive in any of my jtag/rgh's. I did have to customize the stock hdd tray to get it to fit, ill post pics of it soon.
Wish i could get the kozuti CPU cooler that looks nice but thanks for the update m8 i will go on the hunt after i get my nandwich sorted out
Finally found a good fan for the 360 Slim Heatsink Replacement. Still looking for a 92mm x 92mm x 15mm or 100mm x 100mm x15mm fan, but the 80mm will do for now. Delta EFC0812DB 80x80x15mm 48.8CFM 41.0dBA 0.33A 3800RPM Here are a few pics of the install. Cut the pc connector off and replaced it with the slim fan connector. Custom mounting hardware UPDATE: THE YELLOW WIRE ON THE SLIM FAN CONNECTOR MUST BE SOLDERED TO THE BLUE WIRE ON THE FAN & THE BLUE WIRE ON THE SLIM FAN CONNECTOR MUST BE SOLDERED TO THE YELLOW WIRE ON THE FAN FOR IT TO RUN PROPERLY..
Also removed the label from my WD5000BPVT 500gb Hdd and then applied some heatsinks to help cool it. Weather it helps or not I have no clue but it can't hurt. I left a gap in the thermal tape so that the vent hole could breathe if needed.
