Honestly the Xbox One feels as if it was rushed. These are the things that need to be added/fixed in the next software update: Recent Players Fast & Easy Way to Add Someone Friend Online Notification RAM Cleanup when in Sleep Mode Avatar A Proper Quick Access Friend List (360 Style) Decreased Loading Times for Apps & Games A Way to Mass Delete Game DVR Clips Listening to Voice Messages That Were Sent From The 360 Ability to Use Account Balance In Unsupported Regions A Way To Read Messages Without Going To The Messages App (Screen Prompt) External Drive Support Ability To See How Much Storage Space Is Used and Available That's all I can think of right now. Alot of features are hard to access or inconvenient, for example I'd like to read a message but can't because it opens the Messages App, which also pauses an online multiplayer game. And we can't see Xbox One game Achievements on an 360 console, inconvenient M$! They obviously rushed this and maybe I should have waited with purchasing an X1..... Too many things require for us to go Xbox Home and then launch it. For example Snap, I can't use my voice in the middle of my night so to Snap I have to first go Home and then launch Snap. I want for Messages, Friends etc to be a screen prompt, like how the 360 has it, it has to be quick and easy to access.
Also the Xbox One isn't all that fast with multi tasking, there is mostly always visible hiccups. Way to go M$!
You have pretty much echoed what i think is missing too on this console. It hasn't really had any thought put into the friends features at all.
With the software being a mess and lacking right now that's to be expected, they should make an official announcement about this. Honestly when I play Ryse alone, cause nobody of my friends have an X1 I feel as if I am cut of everything lol. I get no notifications, nothing is conveniently accessible etc etc....
This wasn't designed by Gamers for gamers, hold tight because here is my theory: There has been talk of Microsoft selling of the Xbox business already and 12 major figures of Xbox walked out on the company a day or so before the launch of the Xbox One. Its apparent that the Xbox One wasn't designed by or for gamers and anyone that has an Xbox in their living room right now will understand me when i say i think that MS is going to sell the Xbox off to a cable company. MS can get an Xbox into a larger proportion of homes than any cable company can which leads me to believe that MS are selling the Xbox One as a Trojan horse for a perspective cable company. Its certainly no games console that's for sure, or not for any kind of serious gamer at least. Everything about the console is clumsy and awkward to navigate with any kind of ease at least. The friends feature should of been easy to manage and without repeating points that the OP has mention they are far from easy to manage. Having had the console for five days now i wouldn't recommend any hardcore gamers buy one this close to the launch of the PS4.
now that wouldn't surprise me TBH,read alot of bits/rumours on the xbox division getting sold off in the near future.
It was all hinging on whether or not Stephen Elop replaced Steve Ballmer as CEO or not, if so his intention was to sell off Xbox and kill Bing!
