Microsoft has apparently confirmed at PAX that the Xbox One TV features won’t require Xbox Live Gold membership anymore. Xbox One’s “OneGuide” feature, which turns the console into an interactive and powerful cable guide, will not require a Gold subscription. Xbox’s Lead Planner Albert Penello told Games Front at PAX that this feature won’t need Live Gold. We spoke to Penello earlier this afternoon at PAX. “You can do the HDMI pass through,” he said, when I asked about assumption that TV functionality required Xbox Live Gold. He added that Xbox One owners can also “do the TV guide stuff without Gold.” This could be another U-Turn for Microsoft or it could be a press screw up on the site. Xbox One is set to launch in November. Rumor has it as a Nov 22nd date, but nothing confirmed yet. Source - NextVG
