A Watch Dogs sequel will launch before the end of Ubisoft’s financial year, the publisher has confirmed. That means we’ll be playing the next instalment of the open-world action hacking series before April, 2017.
Speaking in its third-quarter financial report, Ubisoft also confirmed that open-world tactical shooter Ghost Recon: Wildlands, comedy RPG South Park: The Fractured But Whole, and third-person multiplayer melee game For Honor will also hit within the same time frame. It’s gonna be a busy year for the publisher.
In addition to this, Ubisoft also said that it will launch "a new high-potential AAA brand with strong digital live services." No further details of this brand were revealed.
The news coming following an announcement that Assassin’s Creed will skip 2016, with the devs taking time out to refine and evolve the series’ gameplay. This was first rumoured in January, along with a report that a Watch Dogs sequel will launch this autumn to fill the gap.
That report also said that Watch Dogs 2 would be set in San Francisco. Ubisoft has yet to confirm or deny.
