Sony has ditched support for three apps on the PS Vita, including YouTube, Maps and Near.The PS Vita's native YouTube application was removed from the PlayStation Store on Wednesday, January 28, Sony confirmed in an official PSA. While those who have already downloaded and installed the app can continue to use it indefinitely, the app "will no longer be supported" after April 20, 2015. Meanwhile, the handheld's Maps app will be removed with a firmware update in March, along with much of the functionality of the Vita's social networking app, Near.YouTube videos and Map services will be accessible on Vita via its web browser app.Sony has offered no explanation for the removal of these apps.
