Steam has given the media demo versions of the Steam Machine. A selection of 300 gamers will eventually get to test the demo consoles which are equipped with an Intel Core i7-processor and a Nvidia GeForce GTX 780 video card. The Steam Machine is 35.5cm x 7.4cm and the outer casing is made of aluminum. It has an embossed stem logo on the top and a light that runs around the middle of the unit. Valve has provided the console with the Steam OS, which is based on Linux. According to The Verge, the OS works very smooth but is also very limited.
