Launch game.xex if you're using a Title Update. I'll look into it tomorrow but until then, I need you to list down what the Error Message says or show a screenshot of it...

This... This is a good, solid tutorial. This has obviously been seen by over twenty-seven thousand people and I'm sure has helped just as much. Well done OP. Even helped me just now when I got a disk read error.

Been playing for a while now with no problems. Then today I go back to complete the drinking game to unlock something. I lost on level 4 and reloded last save.

I've lost all my skills, reputation is reset and I'm permanently drunk, tried sleeping twice, no effect. All the others stats are the same, progression and missions complete etc.

Is my save corrupted or am I missing something?

For those who keep on asking about Title Updates, First of all the original default.xex should not be deleted or renamed, You'll then need to launch the game with "game.xex" even if you're using FSD.

DLC may work without the Title Update however I recommend using a Title Update with the DLC if available.

For those having trouble enabling the Title Update.

No idea, could be a glitch that was saved with the game progress, did you mod or used a trainer? anything could happen but it might just be the game itself...

F**K this game it's broken parts of my jtag install twice now. Only a low level format and reinstall made it work properly again.

    XeXMenu is broken
FSD temps display and fan speed not working.

Maybe I have a bad copy, but COMPLEX usually do a good job.

TBH the game is a bit boring anyway. I'll pass on this one, way too much trouble.

Thank you Meteoracp for your help and effort to make this work.

Can't get the TU working no matter what. Using the stock default.xex from Disc 2. Have copied title update manually, activated in FSD, and then launched game via file explorer (game.xex) but still shows MID: 54A95DF1 TU: 0 in the lower right corner.

Make sure the Title Update is copied to a xbox 360 configured storage device and do a manual scan afterwards. There's not much i can do to help because it could be due to anything from mistakes to corrupted files but i advice you to keep trying as i manage to get it working on a first try.

Worst case scenario is to play the game without a Title Update.

Refer again to [post='567486']Post #86[/post] which you can clearly see on Picture 5 that TU1 is enabled.
It isn't impossible as i've tested it with games like Batman: Arkham Origins and Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag and both worked successfully on a first try.

I've added in title updates manually for a bunch of other games, never had any problems. All the different MIDs and then the default.xex/game.xex variations is causing a confusing clusterfuck. The updates are showing in FSD and I have tried enabling them one by one (tried 3 diff TU versions :\, none of which have MID 54A95DF1. I thought everyone was using the COMPLEX release.....

What do you mean by "none of which have MID 54A95DF1" are you using the correct title update that matches your game Media ID?
Some title updates shows you the Media ID of Disc 1 instead of Disc 2 which is always different so don't forget to check the Disc 1 Media ID.

I think it's because of the way I installed the game.... I merged the 2 discs into one folder and didn't let the game "install" any content to HD... is there a tool out there that allows me to change/patch media ID of default.xex? If I inject disc1 Media ID into disc 2 I bet it would work. When I launch from disc 1 default.xex it does show TU 1 but then I'm forever stuck @ "Insert disc 2"

No installation should be needed, Follow the instructions in the main post, You only need to copy all the files and folders you see in installation1 and installation2 (Located in Disc 1) to the root of Disc 2 and launch the game with "game.xex" remember not to delete the original default.xex file.

I recommend playing this game in Extracted Format if you haven't done so already.
