But, the name calling and the bulling followed her there, they left nasty messages on her Facebook social networking account and this was all too much for Holly who on Wednesday September 16, 2009, went to a dual carriageway and jumped 30ft from a road bridge that was near her home. After the fall she was hit by passing traffic and died.[/font] [font=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]As can be expected reports are saying that Anita and Steven Grogan from Longleven, Gloucester, are said to be 'devastated by the death of their daugher' which was as a result of her being bullied and tortured at school and through Facebook were she was sent lots of abusive and nasty messages posted to her Facebook Wall.[/font] [font=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]One friend of Holly's 16 year old Chloe told a 'Daily Mail Newspaper' reporter about the fee paying catholic school that Holly had left to try to escape from the bullies who were making life unbearable for her. Chloe also said 'Holly always had a big smile and she always did really well in school and the other girls were always picking on her. She wasn't very confident and that was part of the problem. The girls would gang up on her and call her names and she never had anything to say back, because she would just freeze up. They would leave messages on her Facebook wall calling her names, though they have probably deleted them all now. Chloe also told the reporter that the bullies at her old school just told their friends at her new school to keep on bulling her and they did. Supposedly their was a girl at school that use to bully her was crying because of what happened to Holly. One of the messages from Tom her 17 year old brother said 'that her family loved her to bits'. Holly's parents said in a statement 'Holly had a beautiful smile and infectious laugh and would be remembered by everyone who was proud of her and had the privilege of knowing her'.[/font] [font=arial, helvetica, sans-serif]The head teacher at St Edwards, Holly's School, said 'staff and students were shocked by the news' but would not comment on whether staff knew about the bullying that Holly was going through.[/font]
I know its not a nice thing to say but if a few bullies would cause someone to end everything then they weren't gonna survive in their later years cause life gets harder then some bullies. People will eventually die, heartache etc.. Eventually these kids were gonna end it anyways.
Any social media were meant to be SOCIAL media. This means any user should be more wiser and responsible. Any social media that being used to harassed, bullying, that end up like this should be aware by this. I didn't know Holly, but I have a sister around her age. And I know exactly how does it feels when someone hurts your siblings. I pray that Holly rest in peace. May the family have a strength to carry on.
