FIFA 15 to feature all 20 Premier League stadiums

Plus, more than 200 new scanned player faces as part of lucrative new Premier League deal

FIFA 15 will include all twenty Premier League stadiums for the first time in the series' history.

The feature is one of a number of new additions to the game confirmed today as part of the wider announcement that EA Sports has agreed a deal to extend its role as the Official Sports Technology Partner of the Premier League until the end of the 2018/19 season.

EA said the renewed partnership will enable it to showcase the Premier League as its most authentic in FIFA 15.

The company was given access to all Premier League clubs in order to build realistic stadiums, recreate the ambience of the grounds by recording live match atmosphere, and capture 3D scans of over 200 new players to create more accurate models.

"We've got a level of content that we've never done in one year before," FIFA 15 senior producer Nick Channon told CVG. "We already had eight Premier League stadiums within the game, so we're adding 12 new ones."

Crowds will be heard through recordings taken from numerous Premier League matches in a bid to deliver realistic audio to goals, misses, whistles and crowd-specific chants.

"The emotion and feeling of the game not only comes from what the players are doing on the pitch, but from the crowd audio as well," Channon said.

According to publisher Electronic Arts, FIFA 15 will deliver important game information to players via "broadcast quality overlay graphics", which Channon said "add a huge amount of authenticity to the game". These will include team sheets, formations, the score, the clock, and upcoming fixtures.

The Premier League Goal Decision System, which made its bow during the real-life 2013/14 season, will also make its series debut.

"That really does impact the game," Channon said. "Obviously you don't see it all the time, but when you do get a really close call whether the ball was over the line or not it does change the feeling of the game quite dramatically. We've talked about emotion a number of times this year and this is one of those points.

"We've also got something in the game at the moment where we're slightly delaying the call on offsides so that it builds up that drama. We've had situations like that where goals have been scored and then called back because it was offside, which also adds to the drama.

"I think the goal line technology does exactly the same thing. It adds a level of excitement and another dimension to the game. You can't underestimate what these things can do to you as a gamer, just adding that tension. It's how you feel when you watch the game for real."

One new Premier League feature that won't be included in FIFA 15 is the vanishing spray brought to wider attention during its use at the 2014 World Cup. The Premier League's recent decision to adopt the refereeing aid for the upcoming season appears to have arrived too late in the day for its inclusion in the game.

"Obviously it was something that was used at the World Cup and we'll definitely look at it but it's not in FIFA 15," Channon said. "We're not planning on putting it in the game right now," he added.

Channon said that Premier League teams are the most played in the FIFA series, hence the significance of the announcement. "We pride ourselves on being as authentic as possible and we're very proud to have partnerships with lots of leagues within our game which really enhance our product, but to be able to give this level of content to what is the most popular league in the game is something as game makers we couldn't be happier about."

fair play to EA playing across the actual prem stadiums has added a lot more fun to the game, even if the offside rule is completely incorrect on the game these days :|
