Splinter Cell Blacklist has received some new gameplay footage, showing Sam Fisher scurrying around an abandoned mill, using the shadows to his advantage and probably not doing his back any favours. He’s getting on a bit you know?

The level has multiple routes and methods of approach, and the developer at Ubisoft explained that there are three gameplay styles at your disposal – ‘Ghost’, ‘Panther’ and ‘Assault’.

You can probably figure this out, but ‘Ghost’ is when you stay silent and unseen while only using non-lethal attacks, while ‘Panther’ involves staying to the shadows but striking from the shadows and killing them with style using ‘Mark and Execute’ and chained melee strikes.

Finally, ‘Assault’ players just go nuts and shoot up everyone in sight. All three strains are tallied up as part of your final score at he end of each round.

There’s also some cool tech on show, such as a tri-rotor recon drone, which can track enemies, attack them or be used as a remote bomb. Sam can also use smoke or sleeping gas bombs, whistle to distract guards and more.

There are also pesky enemies that disrupt Sam’s goggles, the sods.

What do you think? Does it feel more like classic Splinter Cell to you? Let us know below.

Splinter Cell Blacklist is out on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC from August 20 in North America, and August 23 across Europe.

    Thanks AGB.
