SPIDER-MAN'S alter ego Peter Parker will be killed off, comic book bosses have revealed. The crime-fighting science geek will meet his end in a spin-off version of the original Marvel comic series that made him famous. The last edition of the Ultimate Spider-Man series — which formed the basis for the blockbuster movies starring Toby Maguire and Andrew Garfield — will see Parker die after he saves his Aunt May from the Green Goblin. And his demise paves the way for a new Spidey — complete with a new costume — to take his place this summer. Kristian Barry, 39, owner of online store The Comic Guru, described Parker's death as "huge". He said: "It's the title that launched Spider-Man in the movies. We've been waiting for this." Despite Parker featuring in other comics, the Ultimate series — which re-imagined his story for a modern audience — is closest to the Hollywood films.
