Sony has made its stance very clear on whether PlayStation 4 will restrict used games. It won't. Unlike Microsoft's Xbox One, you'll be able to trade in your PlayStation 4 games, sell them in your local shop, lend them to a friend or keep them forever with no restrictions. Sony exec Jack Tretton made the announcement this morning during the company's E3 2013 press conference to huge cheers from the audience - the biggest of the event so far, and likely of the whole day. "We believe in the model that people embrace today with PlayStation 3 and will continue to do so with PlayStation 4," he said. Disc-based games don't need to be online to play, or to connect online at all for any type of authentication. Single-player games will never need to be played while online at all. "And it won't stop working if you don't authenticate for 24 hours," Tretton concluded. Source - Eurogamer
