Rise Of The Tomb Raider caused quite a stir when it was announced it would be coming to the Xbox One first. Initially neither Microsoft or publisher Square Enix would confirm any details about the details of the exclusive rights. Today however it was confirmed that Rise of the Tomb Raider will come to Windows 10 and Steam in early 2016 with a release on PlayStation 4 following a little later, sometime during the 2016 holiday season.

A release has also been confirmed for Microsoft's Xbox 360, however there has still been no mention of a release for Sony's PS3, we have reached out to Square Enix to confirm whether the latest Lara Croft adventure will be making its way to PS3.

The next installment in the Lara Croft adventure will pick up where the 2013 series reboot left off. Lara returns home to discover she's been discredited and sets about redeeming her name.

The 2013 Tomb Raider reboot reimagined Lara Croft as a young ex-student, fresh out of school, bright-eyed and ready for adventure. She's not the same person when she finally escapes from the remote island where she ends up stranded after a shipwreck.
Expect Rise of the Tomb Raider to stick to the more open world approach to gameplay that 2013's reboot established. Exploration, third-person gunplay and physical puzzle-solving are all front and center, but it all plays out in expansive environments where new paths unlock as you add to Lara's collection of tools.

Rise of the Tomb Raider is scheduled for release on Xbox 360 and Xbox One on November 10th 2015, for Microsoft Windows in early 2016, and for PlayStation 4 in late 2016, we suspect a full 12 months after the Xbox release on November 10th 2016.
