I feel some stuff that gets posted there, is generally out of hand, and not really needed on a gaming forum, I feel gaming news is the only news we need, I can go to my favorite news sites, for an update on the news, I feel what's posted is generally something outrageous, I see no need for this forum here. Or we could heavily moderate this forum?
I don't care either way. Voted to get rid of it though. Lol Never really read any news or "news" on here anyway. That's what I have twitter & YouTube for. Only issue I can see from removing it just because its not "gaming related" is you could then argue that the GFX, parts of YouTube & a few other sections should be removed as well.
Graphics and youtube, generally can't cause an uproar, also those sections have strict rules, but news really varies.
personally would be sad to see general news go as iv posted in that section a few times in the past specially about news that ya may not see on regular mainstream outlets such as http://www.xpgamesaves.com/topic/33376-duqu-trojan-mystery-malware-but-not-as-you-know-it/#.US5JITe_Ndg http://www.xpgamesaves.com/topic/33198-the-nsa-and-the-2-billion-spy-center/#.US5JRDe_Ndg http://www.xpgamesaves.com/topic/33198-the-nsa-and-the-2-billion-spy-center/#.US5JRDe_Ndg like i said its not mainmstream on most news outlets but i try post things that are relevant at the time
I know. Just saying someone could argue that... lol You can't really justify removing one section based only that it's not gaming related & keep the others. I'd regulate it more & make it VERY clear on what's acceptable & what's not for those people who don't understand the rules already.
I personally think it should stay. There is actually some interesting stuff every once in a while. Yes I know its a gaming site but a little different content is always good sometimes.
I myself voted to keep it. Even though this is a gaming site, it is good to hear about news from people that post. It is always good to stay upon a diversity of news. I might not get a lot of news on my browser containing the UK, but my friends on here will let me know if things are good/bad with their posts, or from anyone else around the world.
I say stay. I also say staff decides if stuff is overboard. General sections are always in use when something doesn't have a place.
