RED DEAD Redemption 2 may have only been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, but PC owners shouldn't give up hope just yet.

Red Dead Redemption 2 may have only been confirmed for PS4 and Xbox One, but a PC port is now looking like a real possibility.

A recent leak suggests that Rockstar is working on something for PC, which, based on the developer's release schedule, is almost certainly Red Dead Redemption 2.

The possibility of a Red Dead Redemption 2 port surfaced after the Denuvo database was temporarily accessible to the public.

Denuvo provides digital rights management support for PC games, making it harder for people to access titles illegally.

During this brief window of opportunity, eagle-eyed fans (via RD2) spotted that Rockstar would be using the service in the future.

It's possible that Red Dead Redemption 2 will be released on PC after Xbox One and PS4, much like GTA 5.

Red Dead Redemption 2 got a few mentions during Take-Two Interactive's latest earnings call, but the publisher is still keeping quiet about the release date.

After rumours of a Super Bowl trailer turned out to be false, Take Two assured fans that Rockstar would talk about the title - and its online component - soon.

Take Two boss Strauss Zelnick said: "Obviously, we're incredibly excited about the title. Not just Red Dead Redemption, but also the online offering to come.

"So Rockstar will talk more about the title, but obviously, there is great anticipation both on the part of ourselves and consumers."

Zelnick then promised "significant marketing support", so fans can expect trailers, TV spots and much more in the run up to launch.

"We support all of our releases very significantly. We're incredibly proud of our marketing teams throughout the company and our support is quite significant for all of our releases.

"I think you should expect to see, with regard to all of our releases, very significant marketing support."

The Red Dead Redemption 2 release date is currently set for autumn 2017, although various retailer leaks have narrowed it down to October.

One retail chain advertised the Red Dead Redemption 2 release date as October 2, while another claimed it would launch at the end of October.

October and November are typically the busiest months of the year for new video game releases, so an October Red Dead Redemption 2 release date would certainly make sense
