Rebellion has blocked more than 7000 Steam keys for Sniper Elite 3 after they were found to be stolen. A security leak at an online store led to the theft of about 7050 Steam keys. These were then sold on to other stores, who proceeded to sell the keys to unassuming customers. These customers have now been blocked from accessing the game due to their Steam keys being blocked. "We have been saddened to learn that some fans have been caught out by companies selling unlicensed or stolen Sniper Elite 3 Steam keys," Rebellion informed its customers in a statement. "If you have been affected by this we encourage you to contact the seller in question and seek a refund immediately." Customers affected have to contact Rebellion by July 4, with proof of purchase from the blocked vendor and the Steam key that was blocked. They will then be given a working key and a free copy of the Target Hitler DLC that was made available to customers who pre-ordered the game. "We appreciate that some people are upset," Rebellion added, "this is exactly why we wanted to make this offer to gamers who've been affected through no fault of their own." The studio also provided a list of other sites aside from Steam that it had provided genuine codes to, advising that if anyone wishes to buy the game the following sites are guaranteed to offer legitimate copies: Amazon.com Buka (for Russian keys) Game.co.uk Gamefly GamersGate Green Man Gaming Humble Store Metaboli sites Nexway affiliates Rebellion Gamestore Source - CVG
