Bungie's upcoming Sci-Fi shooter is set to release is literally hours when the servers go live on September the 8th at 12 noon GMT /7AM EDT/4AM PDT. It seems like almost everyone you speak to has pre-ordered the game and has already pre loaded it ahead of its scheduled release, there is no doubt that this game is going to be a blockbuster, the real question is what platform will you be playing it on? Destiny will be available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One and Xbox 360 but you could be forgiven if you were thinking it was mainly a PS4 release mainly due to the fact that Microsoft were not allowed to advertise the fact the game was coming to their Xbox consoles. This didn't stop Microsoft from trying to sneakily advertise the fact that Destiny would be coming to Xbox by faking a perfume advert which featured a bottle of fragrance named Destiny. The advert was soon removed once Sony got wind of the fishy goings on. Sony have exclusive marketing rights and have been working hard with Activision to make sure people know that Destiny will be on the Playstation consoles. Activision and Bungie are also offering exclusive game content to PlayStation players, coupled with the advertising campaigns by Sony and lack of them by Microsoft it was inevitable that Destiny would be more popular among PlayStation 4 players. In a recent survey in which gamers were asked 'What console will you be playing Destiny on at launch?' The results were nothing if predictable given the advertising campaigns, exclusive content and the fact that the PS4 has outsold the Xbox One. The survey showed that 63% of gamers will be playing Destiny on the PS4 at launch, whilst only 24% will be playing the game on an Xbox One. When asked if Destiny swayed gamers to upgrade to a next gen console the results were a little more surprising with only 28% saying yes and a whopping 72% saying no. There is of course an upgrade initiative by Bungie which will allow gamers that haven't made the leap from the old gen to the new gen yet to upgrade their copy of Destiny to the new console for free, but this is a timed offer. The above results could be a reflection of the economy, as when asked 'What edition of Destiny are you picking up on Launch day?' 49% said standard with only 9% getting the Ghost edition. people complained about tomb raider being exclusive to xbox but its ok for sony to do this ? I think it was obvious that ps4 would lead on sales with this due to microsofts slower start and less advertising.
People gets mad when a game is an xbox exclusive saying that Microsoft just gives their money away but when a game tha isnt even exclusive to ps and sony is stopping Microsoft from advertising its okay... Thank god there is a game called borderlands presequel
