Source Digital Spy Pokemon Rumble U will be the first Wii U game to use the system's NFC support. Announced in Japan's CoroCoro magazine, and translated by Pokemon site Serebii, Nintendo will sell Pokemon figurines which can be imported into Pokemon Rumble U using the GamePad's built-in NFC reader - in a similar manner to Activision's Skylanders series. Six standard figurines and one special figure will be available for 200 yen (£1.39 / $2) each when the game launches in Japan on April 24. Pokemon imported using a figurine will be trainable in the game, and that Pokemon's battle data will be saved to the figurine and can be transfered into another player's game. Pokemon Rumble U is a battling game about wind-up toy Pokemon, with multiplayer for up to four players and battles between up to 100 Pokemon on screen at once. It will feature all 649 Pokemon from all generations in the game, though Nintendo has not confirmed yet that it is making figurines for all 649 Pokemon. Pokemon Rumble U will release as a download in the Wii U eShop on April 24 in Japan. No release date for the game or the toy line has been announced for North America or Europe yet.
