New content’s ahead for Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, Ubisoft’s announced. Going by “The Da Vinci Disappearance,” the add-on will bring the smell of new to both the game’s single- and multiplayer components.

In single-player, players will be sent after the kidnapped Leonardo Da Vinci, an undertaking that will lead to two new locations and two new gameplay features. In multiplayer on the other hand, expect to encounter four new characters, a new map (Alhambra, set in Spain), plus two new game modes (Escort and Assassinate).

“In Escort mode, two teams of four players compete in this team-based mode where each team must protect their VIP target or assassinate the other team’s VIP,” informs the official word. “In Assassinate mode, six to eight players are pitted against each other deathmatch style in one ten minute round. ”

Look for the DLC early next month on Xbox Live and PlayStation Network, for 800 MS Points or the equivalent. No exact date yet.
