We all know that Microsoft likes to get a finger in every pie, but when a recent ad popped up selling a fragrance called 'Destiny', you could just tell something was fishy right away! Sony also smelt a rat when they clocked Microsoft's sneaky attempt to advertise the fact that Destiny would be coming to the Xbox One next week as well as the PS4. The advert which showed a blue bottle of cologne called 'Destiny' with an Xbox logo on the bottom of the bottle also had text beside it which read: OKAY SO HERE'S THE LOWDOWN Destiny is actually an epic new first person shooter, available on Xbox. Thing is we didn't have permission to run adverts for the game. So we didn't. Thanks for smelling that something was up. Now get the game and become a legend. Microsoft did not have permission to run adverts for Destiny the game, so using some clever marketing they advertised the fact that Destiny would be coming to the Xbox One using the fishy fragrance as a red herring. The advert was soon pulled after Sony spotted that foul play was afoot and Microsoft replaced the ad with text that reads: "Hi. There are some great Xbox One offers available at the moment. Please check with retailers for more information." So what do you think of Microsoft's marketing, clever or darn right cheeky? Let us know your thoughts below.
