Microsoft not supporting earlier versions of gaming accessories on the Xbox One. Microsoft has recently released a new and revised statement toGameInformer, which confirms the speculation that Microsoft would be moving away from previous peripherals and on to newer and better things. According to a Microsoft representative, "The wireless controller has been redesigned to allow for higher data transfer speed between the controller and the console. This also required creating a new expansion port design for headsets and future controller add-on devices which is different from a standard audio plug input. Xbox plans to develop solutions in the near future to allow consumers to connect many brands of wired gaming headsets to the Wireless Controller for gaming and chat audio.” However, with that being said, with all bad things, there’s a good thing. Microsoft plans to use all resources in improving the audio experience provided through their new console and all audio devices will be boosted by their new technology. Another good thing to be seen from this new development and release of information is that premier gaming headset manufacturer’s aren’t going to just quit creating their products, but are going to make new and improved headsets for Xbox One and other next generation consoles. Astro, Marketing Director, Aron Dyer, spoke with GameInformer, and revealed that they are already looking to produce a license for manufacturing their next generation headsets.
The companies will release a adapter for the pad eventually i think but MS might do the same or change their minds yet again
