A series of pictures were tweeted over November 7th (or "N7 Day" as BioWare so desperately want people to rechristen it), showing Mass Effect developers working on a Mass Effect game. If you really, really squint, you might even see a tiny bit of some new Mass Effect. In order of tweeting, then. The first images of the next game in the Mass Effect series have been published on Twitter today as BioWare celebrates N7 Day. BioWare staffers, ranging from series producer Michael Gamble to BioWare Montreal studio director Yanick Roy to executive producer Casey Hudson, have been tweeting pictures today of Mass Effect things both new and old. These images are accompanied by a message that has been split between tweets, but it's the images themselves that are most interesting. Among those posted so far are one showing what looks like a new character and vehicle being designed, one showing a new type of enemy, and another that shows the game being played (possibly on a PC) with an Xbox 360 controller. The latter was tweeted along with the text, "The next chapter of Mass Effect is upon us!" while the one with the enemy had text -- "...new enemies to encounter..." -- that is part of a longer message split across multiple Twitter accounts. A more recent tweet includes yet another image and mentions "new worlds to explore." The images are being shared today, November 7, as part of N7 Day. N7 is a designation in the Mass Effect universe for marines -- including Commander Shepard -- who have completed a certain type of training. "As we celebrate N7 day, we look back at the talented people who worked on the Mass Effect trilogy, and we remember our inspiration for some of the great pieces that have made Mass Effect so iconic," the first portion of today's message reads. "We celebrate the fans, for their support, and for their commitment to the original characters that we proudly decorate our studios with, and the new one’s we’ve added along the way." EA told IGN, "There are no major announcements planned," but BioWare will be teasing this all day. We'll be updating this story as more pictures and messages surface. sourcecgamer/IGN
