My name is Rich, and this is all fairly new to me. I'm probably a little older than most of the members here. I was building computers back when every memory address had to be assigned manually, adding ram required a soldering iron, and the only windows most people were familiar with were made out of glass. As for gaming experience, I have some. I played some of the very first text based games, (Remember the Leather Goddesses of Phobos?),and when the first Kings Quest was released we were all amazed at the 4 color graphics, LOL! My console gaming experience is limited to some of the early systems that I played with my son, starting with Atari.. He of course had to have every new system that came along so I remember games like Zelda, but not much since. I recently inherited my grandson when his parents passed. He is twelve and naturally video games are very important to him. It's something he shared with his father, who was still into this stuff and new all about updating consoles and modding and such. I'm trying hard to learn as much as possible so I can share this aspect of my grandsons life. I'm going to need all the help I can get, while probably not being of much help in return. At least not in the beginning. I hope that doesn't make me sound like a terrible mooch, but I'm just being honest. As far as the stuff you guys discuss here I am a total newbie, basically lost. If anyone could point me to info on the very basics I would appreciate it very much. The systems he has now are Game Cube and Xbox. He wants an Xbox one so I am trying to research them as to what system might be the best, or at least most updated. Thanks so much for letting me join your community. I will do my best to contribute.

Comparison of Xbox One and PS4 (I own Xbox One S, and my cousin next door owns a PS4 Pro) Xbox One (ORIGINAL) Pros: Better UI More Reliable Fantastic Online Gaming More Servers Cheap services(XBL Gold and EA Access) Awesome game discounts(almost every day/week) Better Controller Cons: Slightly lower not easily noticeable graphics difference between PS4 and Xbox One Less no: of players outside US compared to PlayStation. Less no: of exclusives. PS4 (ORIGINAL) Pros: Awesome and huge no: of Exclusive titles! Slightly better graphics, which is not noticeable unless you are looking for a difference(PS4 with Xbox One, not Pro) Better resolution and fps rate. HDR Cons: Opp of Xbox Pros
