I have played retail copys early. I had MW2, Black Ops, MW3 and Gears 3 early and have played em online with real legit copies and have been ok. Just with what's going on right now. Even the guy that played a retail copy of forza early got benned.... they aren't messing around anymore.

iono if this sounds slow but i made two copies of my main account n play halo on one and the other still play online with that way i wont have to worry about getting banned
OP, I'm in the same boat as you right now I had 147,000 Gamerscore, bought all my games legit, had a ton of DLC and Arcade games on my account and they get banned for Halo 4. This put things into perspective and I would rather get a J-tag to get back all that DLC and Arcade games and not give another penny to microsoft for their bullshit after this. My flashed box and account got banned but for some reason they also banned 2 legit consoles I had in my house. Flubber them. They made $2000 easy off of me over the 6 years I've had my account... no more.

I've owned quite a few. The only games I ever didn't own were the throwaway "rental titles" b/c I used to play online with other people in my house so instead of buying the same game twice we just made a backup. Either way, I spent a ton of money on xbox products and games, so to say they never saw any money from my "actions" would be untrue.
