Final Fantasy fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Final Fantasy 15, tipped to hit shelves in September of this year. A new instalment in the direct series storyline, the game was first announced in 2006 and excitement has been building ever since. However, concerns have been raised regarding the game's performance on Xbox One consoles. Final Fantasy 15 was originally intended to be a PlayStation exclusive title, but plans were made to release it for Xbox as well when a high demand was noted. In 2014, developers announced that both leading current generation consoles would get access to the action RPG game.

Issues with the Xbox One version of the game were first noted during early public demonstrations and beta testing. Xbox One has always fallen some way behind its nearest competitor PlayStation when it comes to frame rates and displays, but this year's E3 conference suggests that we are about to see some serious changes to Xbox One graphic quality. These beautiful, detailed games could soon look much better, with fewer torn frames and less notable lag to distract players from the gaming experience.

Reports from testers reveal that the frame rate has undergone a significant boost, smoothing out game quality and improving the overall feel of gameplay. Game developers working on Final Fantasy acknowledge that there is still room for improvement. The current frame rate has the potential to dip as low as 26 or 27 fps, as opposed to the optimal 30 fps it is now capable of achieving. This is a promising start with a few months still to go before the game is released to the general market. Perhaps by September, we could see Final Fantasy 15 operating at above current standards.

Concerns over the game's performance don't seem to have dampened gamers' enthusiasm for the new title. Despite a few big games making their way to Xbox One, there is still a striking lack of AAA content for the current generation of consoles. As a hugely popular series with a following spanning multiple generations, Final Fantasy could be the next big hit for Xbox One.
