It appears that Ubisoft Montreal has made use of the same map layout from Far Cry 4 for its Stone Age Far Cry foray, Far Cry Primal. While the new game is set in the prehistoric region of Oros in Central Europe, Far Cry 4 was set in the Himalayas.
Ubisoft did the same with Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon, using portions of Far Cry 3's map, although that was sold as a low-priced spin-off, while Far Cry Primal is a full-priced Far Cry game. The similarities between the FC 4 and Primal maps have left some fans surprised.
In the map images below, as posted by GamesPressure, you'll notice that bodies of water like river crossings are largely the same, although some land masses have been connected or tweaked. Far Cry Primal has been out for more than a week, and no one had noticed the similarities until now.
None of this changes the fact that Far Cry Primal is a great game. I'm playing it now, and enjoying every minute of its Stone Age tribal warfare, beast taming and caveman clubbing action. Ubi have done a fine job in making the game's map feel fresh. Our Lee B enjoyed it too.
