Lets say i may not win to most of you'e haha. Great GUI though Hey you linked my topic in there too Common 360Rev problems
Yeah as i said its a work in progress, It has much work for the basic GUI. What do you mean, I may not win to most of you?
no its isnt an editor its just the layout for an example of what it would look like itll be removed when i finish my entry! Its just so i know if the placement and docking is set to the right positions
Looks to me your using either dotnetbar or devexpress.. or that telerik one, anyway some improvements is obviously you should of made the main form a container, no point in opening new windows using the buttons. Anyway here is just a few simple ones I made from scratch with my own .dlls, easy to make and fully customizable:
UI is okay, would need to see how the buttons actually work but if they open a new window then I wouldn't go with that then.. As I said to his I would make the main form a container, you can add animated transitions when tools are loaded, use plugins so everyone on the dev team can easily program updates (just use generic GUI on their tools and once loaded in AIO it auto styles them, at least that is what mine does anyway.) Also if your using generic .dlls you will always be limited on what you can do with GUI, so might wanna look into making your own custom controls... well hell can easily make draggable tiles, I did it in vb for xpgobyto, can do in C# or w.e as well. Also making the Metro UI is simple, just remove borders, change background to w.e, can use an image for the buttons, or make them flat and for text do - & x etc. but yeah to make ones like mine a lot more code is needed but it is worth the effort to make unique gui's.
yeah I don't like them >.> they make the .exe's uselessly large and I don't like the idea of everyone being able to copy my GUI's,I also have a zune styled one as well but for WPF/Silverlight only. I make my .dlls for Windows Forms & WPF/Silverlight. Not hard as if you understand System class you can make any GUI you want. Kinda like how I replicated IPAD GUI with 3D buttons and it slides to the side, allows changing of BG to anything the user wants, they can just drag n drop and background image changes to it. examples:
i officially feel empty inside ._. Cause now i have no chance of winning this contest nor bragging rights =.=
