Alot of the problems in this forum have been minecraft xbox360 edition related.. The purpose of this thread is for those with any problems with modding minecraft to have a look.... finding a possible solution and then looking for further help if needed.. Spoiler First of all a quick tutorial on how to mod you gamesave.. Spoiler Create a new world/use existing.. Fill your inventory with random items at random quantitys Save you game.. and then exit without save (to limit possible freezing) Go into system settings > storage > find your minecraft save and copy it to your USB Move USB to computer Open 360revolution + USB Explorer (within Tools) Once the USB Explorer is open, click on Open > Data > Content > Your profile (E0000 etc) > Minecraft > 000001. Extract save from USB (place it on your desktop, because it is easier to find) Drag the save from your desktop into 360Rev (the blank space on the right) A box will pop up with minecraft.. a bunch of numbers (the ID's) etc.. click on Mod File at the top.. Minecraft Mod Tool will open Add the items you want (be careful to only add items already in the game.. no bedrock, mob spawners etc) Save (a few times to make sure) Open the USB Explorer again, and Inject the file from your desktop into the USB, (say yes on the overwrite) Place USB back into Xbox Open save, Enjoy Minecraft Mod Tool Errors. Spoiler To fix this error, you will want to put your save onto your desktop, and then drag it into 360rev.. 360rev will then open up a box with "Mod File" at the top of it.. click on that and the Minecraft mod tool will open and load up your inventory. If the problem persists, download this.. http://adf.ly/9YkZ4 and then open the .exe file.. and then follow the above steps Verified - Spoiler ************** Exception Text ************** System.OverflowException: Arithmetic operation resulted in an overflow. This error occurs when you have duped items in your inventory, the duped items show up as 0 quantity, to fix this either change the quantity of the duped item.. or open your save and put the duped item in a chest or drop it. Verified - Yes Spoiler Unlimited Health after modding To fix this error remove your armour and then jump off a huge building a few times, (this will eventually cause the game to crash on the respawn screen, (to fix save and exit then open back up) Alternatively eat some food. Verified - Spoiler Your inventory not opening (or your inventory missing when a friends is showing) No fix as of yet Spoiler Xbox360 crashes upon loading modded gamesave. This is mainly caused by adding items which are not yet naturally available in the game, (pistons, mob spawners, bedrock etc) To fix, simply pop your save back into the mod tool, and remove the said items.. rehash + resign. Spoiler Inventory Not loading (blank screen) This is caused because the Editor sometimes doesn't display some items (Blank Drop-down box), to make it work, just change the Blank Items to any Item and the Editor will save. (thanks Bullet) Spoiler Problem - Can't drag+drop minecraft .bin file onto 360 revolution, Solution - You will need to change you UAC (User Account Control) settings, simply search for UAC on your start menu and put it on "do not notify" Restart your computer. Verified - Yes If You have an error with minecraft.. Please look through the above solutions first, if none of them work for you then proceed in creating a thread with your problem carefully explained.. the steps you take to create this problem and a link to your save, uploaded at www.2shared.com Create your thread in this format Name First 5 Items in your Inventory Link to save file Detailed problem (please do not include the full error code) I will personally look at every save uploaded and try to sort out every problem, c0ma im sure, will also be looking into any glitches posted. Will be adding extra Problems with solution spoilers as they arise. There has been a huge influx of various problems with people modding minecraft lately, First of all, if you are receiving a minecraft.exe has crashed error, your save is completely unfixable.. It has corrupted either by you consistently adding items not yet in the game, or a compression problem with the Xbox itself. Secondly, If you are loading your save onto the Xbox, and the game doesn't load normally (no green bar) the save as of right now, is not fixable.. We can try a few things to try and nudge it in the right direction but all attempts so far have yielded very little results.. Mojang has been informed of these problems and will most likely incorporate a fix in the next batch of updates due in august. If you are receiving any of the above problems, please do not waste your own time, and the time of others by creating a thread. There is nothing we can do for you at this moment, be patient.
great thread. if you need help i will be more than willing to help you out if this thread blows up and becomes overwhelming.
Could you possibly sticky it so its always viewable by would-be modders instead of it falling down the post list and getting lost? i know it wouldn't go into a spoiler so i made a new post to see if there was a spoiler limit per post or something, xD
You might want to add what I said in the How to mod Minecraft topic, it is post 14. Maybe these topics should be combined or something. Anyway, I think the issues I talk about will be helpful to people.
Added a short tutorial on how to mod your save in the first place, and one or two more problems with fixes.
In your tutorial you mention the mob spawner as an item you can't use, but you can. I have put them around. It seems that as long as the item really exists in the game, whether or not you can usually use it, it works. For instance I placed leaves all around to give my place a camouflaged look.
it may of worked for you, but does not work for me and others who have tried.. its more a hit and miss.. i have noticed a few people who have played brilliantly with these items.. and then load up there save and have it corrupted.. so i would advice anyone against modding them in until they are officially available in the game.
I'll be careful with these items then. I keep 2 backup copies just to be safe. BTW, nice job on everything.
I have the game as well, I too can also take a look into saves if others are having issues with their saves. Nicely put DaVyZz!!! This should help some members out. I still recommend users to create a new thread with the appropriate information and attachments. That we can keep it organized (in case it's not actually a minecraft editor or save issue but coincidentally the error comes up while using it but unrelated to the editor) and closed resolved issues and move them into the archive.
Thanks man Will change the thread when i get home to reflect this Sent from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk 2
Not a problem EDIT: I did like your little template for the minecraft save attachment process. Feel free to add that back on.
I tried loading my save after modding it and it just does some stuff and then it starts up a brand new world. I got it to work a few times but I'm not sure what happened this time. Help please?
Your welcome bro Let me reiterate, If you can not find the solution to your problem on this thread, then proceed to create your own thread with your problem detailed clearly, with a link to your save, uploaded at www.2shared.com Topic Locked.
