Sledgehammer Games have revealed Call of Duty: WWII’s newest map, Aachen, is a sniping paradise... or nightmare, depending on your playstyle.

I know, I know - we can’t play it yet on PC. But given a PC beta is coming, we reckoned it was worth showing you anyway. Whet the appetite a bit.

As reported by Dotesports, Aachen is described by lead multiplayer designer, Greg Reisdorf, as a medium-sized map “with a huge centre lane that will be great for snipers.”

There's also the smoldering ruins of apartments, a theatre, and even a bookstore, should you fancy breaking up your sniping with a literary break.

After gradually time hopping into the space-faring future, Call of Duty is catapulting itself back to the 1940s for COD: WWII.

Returning to the conflict that started it all, you can be sure to expect the familiar chatter of MG42s and ka-ching of M1 Garands this winter. But what makes up the multi-layered package that is a Call of Duty game this year?

Find out what’s being shipped out to the PC frontlines in this handy guide to everything we know about Call of Duty: WWII.
