Gearbox, Borderlands 2 developer have announced that Borderlands 2 DLC will be available on October 16th for Xbox 360. There will be a total of four new add-on campaigns for Borderlands 2. The new add ons will feature new missions, new enemies ,new areas to explore, and much more. The first DLC is said to add a whopping 10 hours of gameplay to the amazing Borderlands 2 title. In total there is going to be 4 new DLC packs available. You can get the packs for a measly 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360. PC DLC will be priced at $9.99 on PC and PlayStation 3, these four campaign add-ons are set for release by June 2013. You can also buy all the above-mentioned DLC packs in one “Season Pass†bundle that includes all four campaign add-on packs for 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 and $29.99 on PC and PlayStation Network — a savings of 25% over buying each campaign add-on individually. The Borderlands 2 “Season Pass†will be available through Steam, PlayStation Network and Xbox Live and will also be available at GameStop. The developer also points out that the Borderlands 2 Premiere Club and other pre-order items* are not included in the Borderlands 2 “Season Passâ€. Which brings us to the other Borderlands 2 DLC: The new Mechromancer character class that will be released for free (if you pre-ordered the game) on October 16, 2012. It’s free if you pre-ordered the game with participating retailers and now have a Borderlands 2 Premiere Club membership. Otherwise, the Mechromancer class will be released simultaneously for $9.99 or 800 Microsoft Points for customers who are not Premiere Club members. Gearbox Software has said they want to release lengthier campaigns and more character DLC like Gaige the Mechromancer, but it depends on how well those DLC’s do for themselves. To quote Gearbox CEO Mr. Pitchford: “We’re extremely far along with the first campaign DLC. The second DLC is also in amazing shape. The third DLC is a little farther out and the fourth DLC is just in the pre-concept stages. We will have other, non-season pass related DLC. The additional character (Mechromancer) is one kind of example.†More details to come in the future as development on the DLC progresses. I'm really happy to hear how many hours of playtime they're adding. The more time it takes up the better imo. Any word on how many lvl's they'll add?
