CONCEPT The Death Games is a fantasy action/adventure magical survival game set in the floating city of Tubonte, on which the legendary Death Games takes place in order to dictate the next ruler. The Death Games, built up of 12 powerful mages, is a brutal and violent tournament, writhe with death and destruction, but ultimately the reward seems worth it. Each mage summons a familiar to battle for them, a great, mystical creature of immense power. Which proves a surprise to mage Louise Ventaile, when she summons a human mortal from Earth to her side. Luke Fornsworth is equally as perplexed, but by the Death Games contract, must fight against the 12 opponents in his way. Together, Luke and Louise must find a way to battle and survive through the danger of the games and embark on a journey which will lead them to either glory and immortality, or their own demise. Setting The world of The Death Games is a mystical realm of mages and other oddities. The capital city Tubonte, for example, rests among the clouds, descending just once every thirty days to allow travelers and merchants alike the chance to disembark. The grounded realm is derived of a multitude of small towns, big cities, and rural villages alike. Vast fields, rocky mountaintops, and massive oceans are only some of the sights to behold in the lands below the clouds. Thanks will do, going to be giving regular updates as the game progresses. Soon going to be having some nice in-game cinematics. Current renders were all done inside the engine.
Very good! checked out the Facebook page looks really cool and detailed nice work by you and the dev team.
Thanks we are putting a lot of time and effort into this project trying to get the best quality graphics we can get and we are optimizing it as we go so when release time comes we won't have any game breaking bugs and we will be putting a month or two in just testing the game after it is made to make sure we find and fix all bugs since the worst thing is releasing a buggy game. We are taking our time and not rushing so we get everything perfect the first time and don't have to waste time fixing bugs later on. We are currently getting everything ready for a game demo and when that is ready we will begin the kickstarter campaign so we get funds needed to cover all business expenses and software expenses and to compensate the team for their work so far and to continue working on the project till it is complete full-time.
No problem! Yeah exactly i don't like when games are rushed by BIG companies that have a fork load of money and you pay full amount and it's nothing but issues this takes away the enjoyment. I like the idea that you're giving people and the community a chance to beta test the game. I'll keep my eye out on this game demo too. Best of luck to you and the dev team.
Yeah I agree with you on that one and that is why we are taking our time on this project. The kickstarter we have planned is just so we can work on the game full-time and not worry about bills and of course so we can buy all the software we need to help us to get the results we want without doing a ton of extra work so we save time. The demo map is what you guys have been seeing in the screenshots, that is how it will look in game, we are using 2k texture resolution though and the final game on max settings will be using 4k resolution textures and we are going the photo realistic route on everything. The demo map is around 200k unreal units large which is pretty large for a demo map, it will be used in the final game as well it is just a small part of what we do have that is polished as we won't be including anything that is unfinished in the demo. We are currently modeling the forest creatures and putting on the final touches of the game environment. The demo is definitely not final and is still a work in progress. Everything takes a lot of time to do but we are at the point where we can release a pre-alpha demo to show off what we currently have and what we are still working on. We have all the various character races and most of the cities modeled but they are all high poly and not game ready so we are currently working on that but rigging and animating 60+ character models is very time consuming so we will be hiring on more 3D animators when we have the funds as we have been contacted by industry professionals that worked for large companies that are interested in the project but will not work for free. I thank you for your interest in the project, it means a lot to all of us.
Hey everyone, later on tonight we will be starting our steam greenlight campaign and I will update to show off video reels etc. I will also be giving more information about the game. For those that want to be kept up to date with everything we do please follow us on Facebook and Twitter. Thanks for all the support!
Thanks we just released the pre-alpha and we need 1k more votes to get greenlit. If you would like to share on facebook, twitter etc. please feel free to do so as all votes count and we need them so we can continue working on this project.
