How to set up ConnectX for Freestyle Dash (Complete Guide)

This tutorial will be split into 2 sections, PC and Xbox, This is for Windows 7 x86 but should be very similar for all operating systems.

Needed Files:
Connectx (pre-patched files)
http://www.xpgamesav...al-pre-patched/

PC:

	Spoiler

1. Create a folder you wish to share and extract some games.
I will create a folder called Jtag360 and extract Saints row 3 into that folder

2. Right click on the folder we created, go to share with>Homegroup (read)

3. Now to find your Computer Name, Click the Start button then right click computer then select properties

Once the window opens you will see your Computer Name, remember this and write it down

4. Open Windows explorer and type in the following:

\\Your computer Name"\"Your Shared Games Folder"

So for example my computer name is ANTZ-PC and my shared folder is Jtag360
\\ANTZ_PC\Jtag360

if your shared folder opens then it is all setup correctly.

5. Now to get the plugin setup on your Jtag, Connect your jtag internal HDD or external HDD to your PC,
This can be done either via transfer cable or FTP.

Copy the Connectx.xex plugin to the root of your HDD and extract your launch.ini
Edit your launch.ini as follows

For USB HDD:

[Plugins]
plugin1 = Usb:\connectx.xex

For Internal HDD:

[Plugins]
plugin1 = Hdd:\connectx.xex

here is how mine is setup

Save and transfer your launch.ini back to the root of your HDD and connect back to your Xbox360.

The details you will need for the xbox are as follows
Computer Name
Shared Folder
Your PC Administrator Details (if you only have one account on your PC these are your details)

Xbox:

	Spoiler

1. Power your Jtag/RGH and load Freestyle Dash, then go to System Settings.

2. Go to the plugins section and enter your connectx details

A popup will now come up saying "ConnectX Settings Saved"
power cycle your Xbox360

3. Load Freestyle Dash and go to Content settings

4. Go to the Manage Game Paths section and press Y to add a new entry
Now highlight and press change path, You should now have a folder called ConX:

Enter that path and press Y again to save your path
Now depending on what you have in your folder you can set it up as usual,
because i will have a range of items setup in mine i set it as Automatic with a scan depth of about 3.

Power cycle your xbox and your items should now show in the appropriate section of Freestyle Dash.

	Spoiler

That is a basic setup of ConnectX but the options are endless,
You can even setup a shared folder with sub-folders

eg.
Jtag360
- Emulators
- Homebrew
- Modded
- XBLA
- Xbox360

and set your game paths from there

Enjoy Playing all your games straight from your PC HDD on your Jtag/RGH.
