PROJECT Scorpio should have some big games at launch, as Microsoft discusses the importance of console exclusives.

Xbox Scorpio could launch alongside some blockbuster exclusive games.

That's based on recent comments made by Xbox One boss Phil Spencer, who said that having first-party games ready for launch is crucial.

It's likely these exclusive games will be announced at E3, where Microsoft is planning to give games more time to shine.

"I want to give our games more time on stage at E3," he told Twitter followers. "I sometimes feel like we rush telling the story of our games at E3."

Unfortunately, however, Spencer was keeping tight lipped about the Project Scorpio reveal date.

The console was revealed at last year's E3 gaming expo, but nothing has been seen of it since.

But according to retailer GameStop, fans could be in for a treat, as the console is said to be "a very powerful system that’s really made for 4K".

That's according to COO Tony Bartel, who told investors (via Wccf Tech): "Unfortunately we can’t talk about a lot other than what’s known.

"We see it [as] a very gaming centric, very, very powerful unit and so we do believe that there will be some great games that are made for this."

If Microsoft is short of new releases, then at least it will have another new service at its disposal when it comes to marketing the Scorpio to non-Xbox owners.

Launching later this spring, Xbox Games Pass will give subscribers unlimited access to over 100 Xbox One and Xbox 360 backwards compatibility games for £7.99 a month.

This includes Halo 5: Guardians, Payday 2, Gears of War: Ultimate Edition, Mad Max, Terraria and Fable 3.

The Xbox Scorpio, the console is being touted as the most powerful console ever created. As the pre-order page notes, it boasts 6 teraflops of GPU, which will deliver 4K gaming and support virtual reality.

It's so powerful that Microsoft recently had a dig at Sony's PS4 Pro console, telling one site the device won't be able to handle true 4K and that the Xbox One Scorpio is aiming higher.

"I think there are a lot of caveats they're giving customers right now around 4K. They're talking about checkerboard rendering and up-scaling and things like that.

"They're going to be able to decide to take that six teraflops of power and do what they think is best for their game. But I know that 4.2 teraflops is not enough to do true 4K."

Nice, very nice, cause thats better than my 8 core 4ghz desktop right now, thou I bet the system will heat up like crazy with this much power, so your ac bill might rise during the summer months but might drop if you turn this on during the winter.
