I am going back to PC gaming recently got a new computer after being on OSX for the past two years. So thought I'd post a share your spec thread. I haven't powered on my PC yet but I'm wondering if the PSU is perhaps a bit underpowered? I have: Intel Core i7 6600U Integrated HD Graphics 520 Nvidia Geforce GTX 940m 2GB 8GB LPDDR3 Ram 256GB SSD I know it's not much but it gets the job done besides it is the Surface Book 256GB|8GB
I don't think you PSU is underpowered, take a look at this: www.guru3d.com: GeForce GTX 1080 2-way SLI review. it says: Power supply recommendation: GeForce GTX 1080 - On your average system the card we recommend a 550 Watts power supply unit. GeForce GTX 1080 SLI - On your average system the cards we recommend a 750 Watts power supply unit. Even with that you still have a total 100 Watts left so it should be good.
Do you think 100 watts is enough to power the processor and everything else? I haven't powered it on yet as im away? :S
I can't say as I have little experience with Desktop builds, as far as I can say it might do the trick but considering all the power that is PACKED in that machine, I'm not sure, your i7 6950X processor alone is a 140 Watt chip if I'm correct; than it is a NO! I guess you're better off asking someone else or doing a little research, sorry if I disappointed you.
Supposed to have 16GB RAM but cant get 16 to work so only 8 atm. Blu Ray burner installed also 850 Watt power supply Yours puts mine to shame. LOL
