Seeing as XPG is getting more and more popular, the downloads section seems to be getting a bit well it needs some upkeep. Heres a thought.... How about instead sorting the downloads into one massive section why not change it up so that its like a forum to start with I.E. Downloads>Xbox 360 >PS3 >Wii >PC >Apps (Sorta like it is now) ADD a Console mod section that handles the XEX files and JTAG stuff separate from the normal content. For the games organization instead of pages and pages of game saves/mods how about sorting them out alphabetically so that it simple to navigate Even taking it a step further and physically make a category for every game (Like having a whole category that you can select that will then open all the saves on the site for that game.) that has saves.. (I was thinking like using the engine from 360 Revolution Which categorizes the games or obviously coding up the site) Amongst uploading a file it asks for a description and Required fields. For saves that are for achieving gamer score why not add a thing that tells how much GS can be obtained from a save. The download section needs a dedicated search system that purely searches for file names not forum posts. If I am not making anything clear let me know.
Firstly we dont physically want to host any defualt xex or modded xex files for very good reason. Adding a section per game would take a massive amount of upkeep... way more than now! The saves are already in alphabetical order..... The downloads section has a dedicated search , you just need to select it from the searchbar! Other sections if requested can be added though, and we appreciate your input.
Well I was thinking that after you manually placed in the names of the games of the saves that are already uploaded that the new games that will be uploaded to the site the first member would submit the file and then it would be up to the Administrator whom checks the save to make sure that the new category would be spelled right just as you already do with all saves uploaded to the site. And by alphabetical order I dont mean the a-z sorting order im talking about instead of 1-56 have V A,B,C,D,E,F,G,H,I,J,K,L,M,N,O,P,Q,R,S,T,U,V,W,X,Y,Z <selectable Thanks for checking my post so fast. Slight flaw in that plan too, since Premium members dont need thier files verified by Staff... Since the saves are already in an alpha numeric system i dont see any need to change it really. Especially with a dedicated and advanced search at your disposal. Members can also press the " Follow this topic" button on catergories and individual topics to get alerted of any changes. By the way i approved your saves you upload. Thanks for the share, and the feedback. If you are looking for modded xex files etc then maybe you should consider a premium membership
I think that with a better organization however way your team wants to do it would attract a lot more traffic and more exclusive Game Save teams.
Lol yeah im not too familiar with the advantages of premium... But I do believe that this is one of the only big improvements I could think of.. When you search the site people spell things wrong and add numbers to the beggining or simply call the file 1 collectible left lol.
The catergories are something we have thought about expanding on for a long time , and probably will stretch them to be a little more evolved than what they currently are. The search and way they are listed for now will remain as is. Adding a required field for gamerscore etc is something also i will take onboard.
Can or how do you erase a posted save? It uploaded two bioshocks with different text cuz i uploaded it twice... Dont care which one you del. if you can...?
