I'm Getting A PCI Card Within The Next Few Days So I Have Been Reading Up On Tuts And Things And I Read In The Jungleflasher Tut That Using The 360 As A Power Source Will Log In The OS That The Dvd Drive Was Not Being While Powered Up Leading To A Ban I Have A Spare 360 That Has No Video Output Could I Use That As A Power Source Instead Of The Box That The Drive Belongs? Yes you can mate , its the best way to do it if you dont have a connectivety kit . Remember when you connect up to the pc that the xbox chassis is touching the pc for ground, and that you have the AV cables connected on your xbox to stop it shutting down.
ahh.. so you NEED the drive to be in the console when flashing? as i was watching a tut where you jsut needed the drive? or is that with the connectivity kit? i have the pci card in my PC ready and a benq drive, so it needs to be in a console? and the xbox metal case touching the metal bit of a PC ?
The drive is only out when using a connectivity kit. You would need a connectivity kit for Liteon drives. Benq , Toshiba Samsung , and Shitachis can all be flashed from within a chassis.
