Ok since the new Xbox Live update came out and everyone is saying that it does not have any new DVD drive firmware so it won't flash back to stock but they recommend to flash back to stock.

I was wondering could I remove my DVD drive from my Xbox and update without it and then put it back in? or Update through DVD or USB?

Just update as usual, you don't need to flash back to stock then update you can just update while your drive is flashed you'll be fine trust me ;)

No with my flashed console (LT 3.0) when the update came out I just updated straight away and it works fine and I am not flagged also C4evo has confirmed it as safe also I think.

Well that is just extremely stupid, What if your DVD drive stopped working or the wires some how lost connection and you updated while that happened and then you get console banned...

DVD Drives don't usually tend to unplug them self's overnight it normally takes a little tampering and when they flag you, you aren't always going to get console banned they may just monitor you for a bit ;)

That sounds more fair, I had my DVD driver that kept crashing every few seconds, Like it would start to load game and suddenly stop.
